02Founder
Sebastian Koch studied photography at HSBI in Germany and has shot more than 400 rolls of film.
I am Sebastian Koch, a photographer based in Bielefeld, and I founded Lumenary Vision. One roll of film costs me about $30 including lab costs, and at some point I could not justify shooting every session on film. So I began to build the film look for my digital camera from measurements.
03Editions
Analog Vision Studio is sold in editions, each as a one-time purchase without a subscription.
Every edition is a download only, so nothing is shipped and there are no shipping costs. After payment the download link appears on the order status page and arrives by email, which normally takes a few minutes. The editions differ in which film stocks they contain, and the film stock library lists each edition with its film stocks and its price.
- Film profiles. Every film stock comes with six exposures, from −2 to +3 EV. The Essential Frontier edition holds six film stocks (HP5+, Kodacolor 100, Vision 3 250D, UltraMax 400, Fuji Pro 400H and Gold 200), and the Master Collection holds all 23.
- Scanners. The film is scanned on a Fuji Frontier SP-500, and every edition except Essential Frontier adds the same film stocks as scanned on a Noritsu.
- Lightroom and Camera Raw. In Lightroom and Camera Raw there is a Standard and a Professional version of every profile. Professional builds on a neutral camera profile for each camera model on the supported cameras list.
- Capture One. Every edition is also available for Capture One. A Capture One purchase covers one camera model, chosen in the installer after checkout, and further cameras can be added. A second program, for example Capture One next to Lightroom, is a separate purchase.
- Tools. The Lightroom version includes workflow presets for tone, color, film texture and masking, and the AVS Lab Tech plugin for Lightroom Classic 12 or newer.
04Method
Every film profile starts as a color chart on real 35mm film, scanned in-house.
The Fujifilm Frontier SP-500 has been in-house since August 2026, and the profiles have been built from its scans since version 2.1.
- A color chart with about 140 color patches is photographed on real 35mm film at six exposures, from −2 to +3 EV.
- Every exposure is scanned and measured on its own chart, so no exposure is calculated from another.
- Custom-made software measures each scan and builds the profile from those numbers.
- The profile is checked against a second chart that was not part of the calculation.
- Sebastian Koch checks the result by eye at the end.

Support is reachable by email at sebastian@lumenaryvision.com and through the contact page.

- Contact page. The contact page answers common questions about downloads, software and finding the profiles in Lightroom.

06Reviews
Analog Vision Studio has 4.9 out of 5 from more than 260 reviews, written by buyers after their purchase.
Buyers are asked for a review by email after the purchase, and the reviews are collected through Klaviyo Reviews. As of 27 October 2026 the product page of the Essential Frontier edition showed 4.87 out of 5 from 265 reviews.
The reviews page quotes buyers word for word, including reviews with reservations. The free sample lets you check the look on your own files before you buy, and it contains Kodacolor 100 and Vision 3 250D at 0 EV in the Standard version.
07Limits
Standard works with any camera Lightroom supports, and Professional needs a raw file from a listed camera.
These limits decide whether an edition fits a setup.
- Cameras and files. Standard works with any camera Lightroom supports, on raw and on JPEG files. Professional needs a raw file from one of the cameras on the supported cameras list. On a JPEG or a camera that is not listed, Standard applies.
- Software. The profiles run in Lightroom Classic 7.3 or newer, Lightroom (cloud) 1.3 or newer and Camera Raw 10.3 or newer. The AVS Lab Tech plugin needs Lightroom Classic 12 or newer. The Capture One version is built for one camera model per purchase.
- Light. The profiles are built for daylight, and flash works. In night scenes and with extreme colors the result can move away from the film.
